The message that Mary brings to me is to trust God. We as children of God should trust him and the path he has planned for us. Mary trusted God and when he said that she was going to birth his child she simply accepted it and said yes. I was a strong believer that everything happens for a reason and that God has a plan for me in life so I should trust him and not be so worried about everything. Once my grandma died it was hard for me to process it because only a few months after my dad also died. So far at least three other people really close to me have passed after them. I think that it all happened so fast in just two and a half years that I have not had time to realize what it all means. At one point I was questioning my belief that everything happens for a reason. In my mind there was no sensible reason why all of these people were dying. After a while I did not know what to think and I just turned to God more than I had ever before in my life. I had to trust that God has a plan for my family and me and that we will all be alright. I should always say yes to God like Mary did and trust what he has planned for me in my life.

Alumni Interview Project
What does it mean to be a member of the Notre Dame community? Ms. Boghossian helped me answer that question during our interview together. Ms Boghossian said, "As a student, being a member of the Notre Dame community meant surrounding myself with empowered, young women who were ready to accept challenges, while still being surrounded by supportive teachers. As an alumnae, I know that I can turn to my Notre Dame sisters, as well as network of teachers and staff members for continued strength, and encouragement throughout my life." What it means to be a member of the Notre Dame community to me is that I can be who I want to be and express myself freely. I can make goals, with the support of my teachers and classmate, and achieve them. I am positive that I can carry the many positive relationships I have here with me throughout life because we will always be there for each other. I am also a representative of the Notre Dame community so it is important for me to exemplify a strong, powerful, hard working woman. I am proud and blessed to be apart of this community and would not change where I am today.

Blog Response #10
Considering the quote: "I have looked into your eyes with my eyes. I have put my heart near your heart," what I have learned and what we discussed, there is some Sr. Dorothy with you. I can be extremely dedicated if I really am passionate about something. I am passionate about many things from sports to family to friends. An example is my coaching and how I show up and coach all of the practices and games even though it is volunteer and I am very busy. I love the girls and am there for them whenever they need. Not only am I a coach, but I let them feel comfortable enough to come and talk to me when they need someone to talk to or someone to lean on. Sr. Dorothy also helped people get their land back, but was also their family and friend. The Sr. Dorothy in me is shown through my love for helping people while also being their genuine friend and family member.
